Skiing is a lifetime sport and all levels and ages are welcome, from beginner to expert, tiny tots to Senior Citizens. Afforded with 30 trails, 3 chairlifts, a t-bar, a handtow, and a magic carpet with slow and gentle slopes to meet the needs of the newest skiers and snowboarders and advanced trails for the daring and adventurous. Many of those experienced skiers and snowboarders on the slopes today were beginners just a short time ago. For the more competitive skiers, racing is offered for ages 6 through 19. At Thunder Ridge, the ski school is dedicated to teaching the fundamentals of skiing to new “slopesters” and fine tuning the skills of the intermediate and advanced skiers. No matter what your age or ability, Thunder Ridge will make it a memorable day for you and your family.
Thunder Ridge doesn’t wait for the first snowfall of the year. They make snow over the entire mountain. With a state of the art snow making system they can cover over 100 acres with beautiful white, soft powder. Thunder Ridge is maintained by tower-mounted and fan snow cannons that work in harmony with our air and water system. The groomer fleet keeps the snow in super condition for your skiing and snowboarding enjoyment.
When you’re ready for a break from all this winter fun or simply want to watch the thrills and spills, come inside to the spacious lodge, relax and enjoy the panoramic view from their lounge or glass atrium that overlooks the mountain base and beginner slope. Warm up with a cup of hot chocolate or a bowl of homemade soup or try one of the daily specials in their full service cafeteria. Babysitting is also available in their glass enclosed nursery located right inside the Lodge.
